DISPUTE RESOLUTION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Mr. Daley has years of combined practice of law and judicial experience in dispute resolution. He enjoyed serving as a Judge and conducting trials. However, he firmly believes in the process of mediation. He enjoyed helping parties resolve disputes through judicial mediation where he assisted them to craft their own resolution and avoid the uncertainties and costs of a trial.
Mr. Daley was an early advocate of alternative dispute resolution in Ontario. He was involved in negotiation throughout his entire legal career and believed in the benefits of mediation when it was first offered in Ontario. While still in the practice of law, and shortly before his appointment to the Bench, he took mediation training and obtained a Certificate in Mediation from the Harvard Program on Mediation, as sponsored by the Advocates’ Society.
As an active counsel, Mr. Daley was one of the very few counsel invited to join an exclusive pioneer panel of the retired Superior Court Judges and counsel offering Alternative Dispute Resolution services in Canada. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed to the bench where he promoted both judicial and private sector mediation. His style in mediation is facilitative / evaluative. He believes in the use of the caucus and discussion of risk management to help parties find a mutually acceptable resolution.

In addition to Mediation, Mr. Daley offers his services as Arbitrator and in certain matters, acts as an Adjudicator.
